There is no one modality of treatment that is right for every client. It is important to figure out not only if I am the right fit as a therapist for you, but also which type of treatment is best for you. I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Reprocessing Desensitization), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT techniques (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Creative and Art Therapy techniques, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Client Centered Therapy.
I run an adolescent DBT Skills Group every Tuesday from 4:00-5:15pm. It is geared toward high school students but there is the possibility for a mature middle schooler to participate. An individual assessment must be completed prior to joining group to determine appropriateness. This group addresses skills to cope with self harm, suicidal thoughts, relationship conflict, trauma, depression, anxiety, & more.
